Hi, Gil!

Intertops makes no explanation as to whether those lines are for the best opening weekend or the best overall gross. Par for the course for their piece of garbage site.

Simply select which movie will have the highest 3-day weekend opening (Friday - Sunday) at the box office from the list of films for 2005.

I dont know right now its gonna be Batman Begins but you gotta watch out for War of the Worlds' buzz picking up dramatically... they spent a bazzillion dollars on it and are going to advertise the f*ck out of it, count on it. Steven Spielburg apparently said he wanted it to be the biggest selling movie of all time? Maybe just a rumor, I dont remember if that is a direct quote.

on WotW:
"Given the highest approved budget in history of $200 million. Though Titanic (1997)'s budget eventually hit $200, it was approved for $170. Spielberg's answer for the high budget: "We will spare no expense.""

The Ring 2

I'm looking for the RING TWO to pull in at least 40 million. Probably 40-45 million. Right now the theater count is at 3000. It should go up some.

Pretty early for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to be up there. I know all the kids love the book like they Love Harry Potter stories. I feel +1200 is a decent price since the buzz for this movie has been building up and ready to explode:hump: ...

....it ain't gonna do $80-90 million on it's opening weekend though considering the probable numbers needed to win this bet. King Kong's a lively outsider and out of the longshots, Kingdom of Heaven if it can do better than Gladiator numbers could be the surprise of the films on the list.

Batman Begins 3/2
War of the Worlds 3/2
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe 6/1
King Kong 8/1
The Fantastic Four 8/1
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 15/1
Madagascar 15/1
The Longest Yard 15/1
Mr. and Mrs. Smith 40/1
Kingdom of Heaven 50/1
The Dukes of Hazzard 60/1
Cinderella Man 80/1
